It is hard for me to believe in a little around seven months, I will be graduating with an Esthetics license from The Salon Professional Academy. I have been taking guests at school and learning as I go and it’s some pretty intense learning (you need to pay attention when doing lactic peels, am I right?)
So far, I can do corrective facials, body waxing, body treatments, and advanced skin treatments (think manual microdermabrasion, glycolic peels). We’ve also learned makeup application, something I would learn to go more in depth into learning more fundamentals.
I am loving what I am doing. Sure, I get stressed out taking on some of the things we learn and how fast we are learning it but, when I get to see a person’s skin and literally see what something I have done has changed something in their appearance, it is awesome. I can break down the possible causes for what’s going on in a person’s skin and I get to help fix it.
I hope to get the chance to show more people what Esthetics and Skin care at the school can do for them. And think about it, would you rather spend $23 dollars or go to a full on salon and get the same thing for more like $60. It’s a great way to experience first hand what a corrective facial can do for you without having to pay full price if you are hesitant.
Now the next question is, where will my Esthetics take me?
