Comment on Facebook Pages as Your Personal Profile

As social media continues to grow, many individuals have acknowledged the importance of connecting with a Facebook Fan Page. It gives individuals a chance to stay up to date with what’s happening on the site and opens the connection up further for communication.

Something that many have asked me before is if there was a way that they could post as themselves instead of the page, (me writing on the For The Love of Baby! wall as Jenna and not For The Love of Baby!) When there are multiple admins on a fan page, it can start to get confusing when a conversation is being held between several but only showing up as one person.

Here is an easy way to default back to commenting on your fan page as your personal profile.

When you first go to your fan page, as an admin, you see more options than a “fan” of your page. In the top right corner, you will see the “Edit Page” button.

After clicking through on the Edit Page, you will be taken to a variety of options in regards to your page layouts, settings for who can see what and so forth. After selecting “Your Settings” on the left hand side, you will see a settings page. Within your posting preferences, you can default to have any postings automatically as your page or you can un-check the box to use Facebook as your personal page/account.Comment on Facebook Pages as Your Personal Profile 1As you can see, my posting preferences are already marked that I am using Facebook as Jenna Nicole. When I make a comment on the For The Love of Baby wall, it appears as Jenna and not For The Love of Baby!

From this, if I wished to use Facebook as For The Love of Baby!, I can click in the right sidebar and “Use Facebook as For The Love of Baby!” This will make the fan page the “commenter” throughout anything I then write.
