As a mom, I want the very best for my children and when I learned more about hearing loss in children it was something that caught my attention. Kelsie has had a history of ear infections and I worry about her hearing, as well as a test as school showing some abnormal readings to monitor.
Join us this Wednesday for a twitter party to learn more about how you can help prevent hearing loss in young children and more!
What: Every year, around 665,000 children around the world are born with significant hearing loss.
A child’s ability to hear and speak is vital for emotional and social development. If an infant’s brain does not receive adequate acoustic stimuli because of an undetected hearing loss, the development of age appropriate speech and language can be delayed making it difficult to close the gap. Therefore, it is crucial to detect and manage hearing loss as early as possible!
We’re joining Hear the World Foundation for a Twitter party to spread awareness of how to detect, treat and prevent hearing loss in young children. Ask questions and hear straight from expert Audiologist, Dr. William Dickinson, an as he tweets from @Hear_The_World about protecting children’s hearing and treating hearing loss.
