For those of you that have followed my experiences with my Fibromyalgia battle and health, I’m sure you’ve seen TONS of meds that I have been on and currently use. Many of these meds. leave my mouth dry and just plain yuck. No matter how much water I drink, it seems my mouth still stays dry.
Over the past few days, it has turned to hurt-my throat feels like when you are just starting to get strep and I have started to get canker sores. It makes me wonder if the meds are worth it when I start to hold all the tension in my cheeks and turn back into pain. I’d do anything to have some relief.
Dry mouth (xerostomia) is an under-diagnosed condition that affects 10% of the U.S. population, and can have a severe effect on oral health, causing tooth decay, gum disease and bad breath due to lack of oral moisture. Dry mouth is a symptom of several medical conditions, such as Sjogren’s Syndrome and diabetes, for example, and is a common side effect of many prescription and over-the-counter medications. In fact, people taking three or more medications have a 60% chance of suffering from dry mouth, making this a more common occurrence in mature adults.
OraMoist Dry Mouth Patch is a product made for people like me that I was beyond thrilled to have the chance to check out for myself. This small patch adheres to the roof of your mouth or cheek and slowly dissolves helping to alleviate dry mouth and help to restore your mouth back to it’s healthy environment sort of speak.
At first, it takes some getting used to while the patch dissolves and it might be a bit uncomfortable but after a few, I was fine. The feeling is a little bit funky but overall, I definitely felt a difference and I was left not feeling like my mouth was a desert.
OraMoist Dry Mouth Patch has been clinically proven effective in terms of increased saliva production and improved feeling of moistness. meds and other things, my son could use this and would love for hime to try
I have major seasonal allergies and all the meds I take make my mouth so dry. I keep drinking water and more water and it still doesn’t help so I would love to try this.
I drink alot and still feel dry – I also feel alot of what they describe for who can use it: dry feeling in the mouth, frequent thirst, sores in the mouth; sores or split skin at the corners of the mouth, cracked lips, a dry feeling in the throat
I drink water all day – I am on a beta blocker because the doc thinks my adrenals are working overtime and maybe thats why I i’m always so tired, get migraines and a host of other things and it might help but think i had the problems before can’t remember.
This would be great for me because I often sleep with my mouth open and my mouth is SO dry in the mornings. Thanks.
