I don’t know whether it is the fact I am a Mom or we are constantly writing down notes, the girls drawing, and Steven and I using pens and pencils for school, but it always seems like they end up out of ink before I know it. I never put much thought into the fact of what might happen to the pens when we throw them in the trash.
Papermate is ahead in their thinking with the new launch of biodegradable pens and mechanical pencils giving families a new way to help the environment with eco-friendly pens. I went with my mom for some of her back to school shopping with my little brothers and was amazed at how much stuff they needed. Matthew is going into sixth grade and Gunnar is going into fifth grade and can I just say WOW to how many specifics they need in pens, and so forth?
Back to School is here and you can purchase eco-friendly products that you can also have fun with with the Plant-A-Pen Challenge. So not only are they helping but you can also have a little science experiment. The challenge asks you to “plant” the biodegradable components of your pen and mark it so you remember where it’s at. Throughout the year, have fun digging up and seeing what is left. I remember doing these type of things in school and I loved it!
Have you checked out the new Paper Mate?

This is a great idea! i hate disposable anything. We go through so many pens as well. i think i have a whole drawer full of pens that don’t write anymore that i can’t bring myself to throw away.
