Not too long ago, Tanya and I decided we were going to have a Mom’s Night Out. I had received enough points from a Dr. Oz contest for a night from Holiday Inn’s Priority Club Rewards that I had a night up for grabs so on a whim, we decided what the heck. The night before, we weren’t quite sure what we would do but I found several Holiday Inns throughout the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. On a whim, I picked the Cherry Hills Holiday Inn Express and Suites.
When I headed out for Tanya’s house, we were just randomly talking about maybe going out and goofing off in Omaha. As I got closer to her house, I found out it had started snowing in Omaha. Yeah, we’re pretty sure it came out of nowhere because we had heard nothing about it. Little did we know as we started our trek to Omaha, that yes, there was a winter storm. Oops.
While it took us a bit longer than we expected, when we found Cherry Hills, we were impressed. You can tell this is an area of growth for Omaha and it will continue to develop. The Cherry Hills Holiday Inn was pushed back on a hill behind some new developing businesses but still visible from the Interstate.
Check in was a breeze and in less than five minutes, we were heading up to our room. The front desk attendant was a sweetheart. We knew there was a possibility we might be staying another night if the weather didn’t cooperate. Our room had plenty of space, perfect for anyone who might be staying more than just a night.
While we didn’t want to go too far, we were able to find a fun sports grill, Legends, within walking distance of our place. We headed out in the snow, had some awesome food, and of course, some great laughs-as always.
Our hotel room was warm when we got back. The hotel featured a nice sized indoor pool and hot tub/whirlpool area, a fitness center (we didn’t get the chance to check out), on site guest laundry areas, and much more. In the morning, we ventured downstairs to check out the breakfast. There was a wide variety of cereals, biscuits, etc. to check out. I just decided to keep it simple though as it did look like your typical hotel breakfast options ;).
Overall, we were very impressed with Cherry Hills Holiday Inn and definitely look forward to a chance to come back-preferably with no snow on the ground!

I really liked it there! The location was on the total opposite of Omaha, but it was neat to see that side of town. The staff here was really nice!
