With Christmas drawing near, it’s truly a time of magic for our children. Our little girls know all about Santa Claus and have visited Santa at the mall in previous years but, there’s just something that happens between the time of waiting in line and getting up to the man in the red suit that it never seems to fail, most younger children get frightened. We’ve had luck for the most part but you always see someone scared to see Santa.
Kelsie is old enough that she knows about making a list for Santa Claus and what it means to be on the naughty or nice list. When I heard about SantaSpeaking, I was excited for the chance for Kelsie to experience her very own phone call from Santa. She loves talking on the phone and when I snuck a hint that a certain phone call was going to be happening, her eyes lit up. I was somewhat nervous that she might be quiet, not knowing who it was, but she knew right away she was talking to Santa.
“Kelsie, are you ready to talk to Santa when he calls?”
“YES! I’m SUPER ready!”
We told Kelsie that Santa was going to be calling her in the evening on the day it was to happen and just sat back to wait for the call. As the phone started to ring, I saw “North Pole” on our Caller ID. She heard that jolly “HoHoHo” and immediately knew who she was talking to. Before the phone call, I was able to tell Santa all about Kelsie’s favorite things, what was on her Christmas list, and some of the things Kelsie might need a few reminders to do. 😉
Santa asked Kelsie about her gymnastics class and going to Grandma’s house to see Uncle Matthew and Uncle Gunnar. Kelsie told Santa about helping pick up Aubrey’s mess of toys she had made in their room and that she likes coloring. I couldn’t help but smile listening to the conversation and of course, seeing Kelsie with a smile from ear to ear the entire phone call.
Now Kelsie is 3 (will be 4 in February) so sometimes the conversations can go a little bit everywhere. A few times Santa would ask her something and she’d tell him something completely random but it didn’t matter-Santa knew exactly what to do and say to make my little girl’s day. She’s told everyone that Santa asked her to draw him a picture and make him cookies for when he comes to visit our home. She also got the biggest kick out of Santa telling her he had to go feed Rudolph some green hay or he’d get grumpy (she told Santa he needed carrots and broccoli too!)
SantaSpeaking made a memory for my daughter that will be IMPOSSIBLE to forget. I can’t wait for Aubrey to be old enough for her to be able to have her own call with Santa as well and get the same delight her big sister did. We are waiting on our CD of Kelsie’s phone call to come-something she’ll be able to cherish forever.
SantaSpeaking offers several phone call options for your child including added-on mp3 recordings and CDs like I mentioned above. You also can pick out a pre-recorded Christmas eve message or personalized letter sent straight from Santa.

I would love my two sons to receive a call. How fun!
My daughter just turned 3 and has really started to appreciate Christmas and is in LOVE with Santa. She too probably won’t say a whole lot, but I think she would talk about the experience of Santa calling her for a long time.
