1. Seasonal Art & Craft Vendor Market

2. GalaxyCon Des Moines
When: September 11–13, 2026 Where: Iowa Events Center, Des Moines
Why You Should Go: This is a massive three-day festival of fandom celebrating pop culture, sci-fi, and gaming. Whether you love streaming your latest console playthroughs or you just want an incredibly fun, high-energy day out, this event is massive. 3. Beaverdale Fall Festival
When: September 18–19, 2026 Where: Downtown Beaverdale
Why You Should Go: You can’t do fall in Central Iowa without hitting Beaverdale. Friday features a classic Car Night, and Saturday morning brings their highly anticipated dog parade and main parade down Beaver Avenue. 4. Oktoberfest at Prairie Trail
When: September 25–26, 2026 Where: The District at Prairie Trail, Ankeny
Why You Should Go: If you need a break for an adults-only evening, head down to Ankeny for Oktoberfest. They will have a huge selection of craft beers, delicious German food, competitions, and a Silent Disco. It is a fantastic excuse to unwind and enjoy the cooler evening weather.
5. Living History Farms Applefest
When: September 26, 2026 Where: Living History Farms, Urbandale
