This weekend we are heading to Jacksonville, Florida for my father-in-law’s wedding. This will be all of the kids’ first official trip to Florida (although Aubrey was in my belly the very first time!)
We will be driving (no, not my idea at all!) and 3 out of 4 kids have been or are sick. Ugh! Snacks are packed, coloring books, charging up all the electronics. It will be fun getting to see all the sites as we drive.
I will be trying to take pictures as we drive across the United States so be sure to follow along!

What is the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?
Are there any must-see spots on our way between Iowa and Florida?

When our youngest was 18 months old we took a month and traveled 7,000 miles from Dallas through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Mount Rushmore, Minneapolis, Chicago and St. Louis. It was a blast. The five of us still talk about it. The minute we got back we all said we’d do it again.
Compared to that the two-week trip we just did from Dallas to Orlando and back was a short jaunt. With smart phones, laptops and DVD players/iPads, trips these days are so much less difficult. A power inverter that can power/charge the DVDs/laptops while you’re on the road is key.
