I’m ready for a new year and a fresh start 2009. It’s been one heck of a ride this year but I’m hoping for more promise with the start of 2010.
2009 had it’s share of laughs and funs but there were also far far too many tears. 2010, let’s turn things for the better for all. Bring hope and promise for new goals, new experiences, and new friendships sure to come.
As a blog, it was an amazing year. I am proud of For The Love of Baby and what we have become!
January 2009
With the New Year, For The Love of Baby! celebrated the New Year with talk of goals for the New Year. All of you also got to see a pretty rocking Red Hairstyle (oh how I miss it!) that I’ve been told I pulled off quite nicely. I also got a new piercing-a microdermal that was in the small of my back.
February 2009
It was hard to believe my little Kelsie turned 2. I am so proud of my big girl. With February, we all took a huge hit in our family. We were forced to say goodbye to our family rock. As we were forced to say Goodbye to Grandpa. Shortly after, my Grandma had an accident and hospitalized. Grandma did not have it fair at all.
March 2009
Miss Kelsie came out in full force as a little show off and danced for you all. I also shared some random tidbits about me.
I also made a list of some goals to accomplish for 2009. I’d say I succeeded 50/50 on that list.
April 2009
I turned 22. CRAZY. LOL.
We had a guest blogger, Cheryl from Lipz Unzipped and yes, she did it. She talked about SEX.
May 2009
The girls and I had tons of fun heading to their Uncle Gunnar’s baseball games. Kelsie was ready to watch. I shared some favorite plug-ins for WordPress.
My cousin and I came up with 25 Different Ideas for Blog Posts when that dreaded Writer’s Block hits.
June 2009
As warm weather came on, For The Love of Baby! got some exciting news. I was contacted by Jennifer at Iowa State Daily, telling me I was Number One Twitterer in Ames. Aubrey and I were seen on the front cover of Iowa State Daily and we talked a bit about what it’s like to be a blogger.
WWE Raw also came to Des Moines and I got to get up close and see drool over John Cena.
One of my favorite posts of all time-it gave me the chance to be creative and share my beautiful little girls, In My Daughter’s Eyes
July 2009.
Thousands upon thousands headed to Chicago for the annual BlogHer Conference. We had some fun, including the good ole sugar packet toss into the cleavage.
I also took the chance to show you some other Bloggers from Iowa
August 2009
I shared a glimpse at the tattoos. Another post I wrote was about the story behind my Evanescence tattoo. We also had Aubrey’s birthday party earlier, complete with cake fun.
September 2009
September 8th would have been my Grandfather’s 73rd Birthday.
I found out I wasn’t the only one having problems with QWEST (that have still continued).
October 2009
It is amazing some of the people you meet online and the friendships that can develop. Tanya from MommyGoggles and I had our first girls night out and of course, it’s developed into an awesome friendship. She also came back to get her nose pierced.
I shared my wish for my little girls. And Aubrey got caught giving kisses!
I shared my poor experience with FedEx.
November 2009
The reality of becoming a single parent.
Earth Angel Mama Baby gave me the chance to share with you all about the relaunch of their baby loss comfort site.
The end of November was hard. While my dad might have been around when I was younger, I lost him shortly before Thanksgiving.
Poor Kelsie had to head to the ER, one of the worst experiences a parent can have.
December 2009
As our year comes to an end, Iowa had an EPIC Snow Storm.
Have you heard of Hold Your Head High Gorgeous? This poem is inspiration for all.
We all cried and showed support for a fellow blogger during her tragedy.
I opened up as well about wearing your heart on your sleeve.
This year has brought many experiences. We hope that you will continue on as we head into 2010 with many more stories to tell and share with all of you!

Sorry about your grandpa and your dad! 🙁 My dad hasn’t ever been around either… my grandpa was my dad also. He passed away when I was 13 and my whole life went downhill for a couple of years after that. hugs
My oldest daughter, Briyana, also has a birthday in Feb… hers is the 6th.
I’ve also made some wonderful friends that I’ve met online. I’ve unfortunately also met some freakin crazies on here, but the good definitely outweighs the bad!
Kudos to you for being strong enough to admit when enough is enough. I don’t know why you got a divorce, but I commend any woman for doing what she feels is necessary to make a better life for her kids. No “sorries” or condemnation here!
I feel your pain when thinking about Shellie and her family’s loss 🙁 It’s so hard to believe… he was such a precious little boy. Just thinking about it makes you appreciate never having experienced something like that… and makes you hold on to your children tighter, making the most of every day, realizing that you never know how long “a lifetime” is going to be…
I’m still working on my year-in-review post lol Hopefully I’ll have it up in a couple of days… I hope you have a fabulous 2010!!
You’ve had an amazing year with triumphs, success and times that test your strength! You did an amazing job summarizing your year!
Much success and happiness to you in the New Year!
Moomette’s last post: Best of Moomette’s Magnificents Blog Posts 2009
Shows how much I pay attention man. LOL I didn’t know you were from Iowa also. I’m going to go through the blogs of the other Iowa bloggers. Awesome! And I love the red hairstyle! I’m not sure I have enough guts to go through with the piercing, I’m not scared with traditional piercing, but the other makes me flinch, i I could get up the courage, I think they look awesome!
Here’s to a happy 2010!
We too had many tears. I am hoping the new year brings us fewer tears and more smiles. Thank you for sharing.

Hey I know you’ve had a rough year and I’m just glad to know I’ve been able to be here for you even if its just for you to be able to call me an idiot and me to just smile and say I know. There is always ups and downs every year and I’m honored to be called your friend and experience this rollercoaster we call life. I look forward to 2010 and all it will bring us and our friendship and as always the years to come.
Looks like you had a very big year in 2009! Here’s to hoping that 2010 will be “less” stressful and more fun!
