I am republishing this post as I believe bullying NEEDS to be discussed and we all need to take a more active part in making such stop. It’s time for everyone to make it stop and not act like it’s no big deal.
You would be surprised the impact bullying can have on another individual. I was bullied throughout school. I didn’t grow up getting whatever I wanted. I was born with a birth defect that was made fun of until I was old enough to do something about it. I came from a single parent household. I was a foster child. I was just being me.
All too often, children are bullied for what they wear, what they like. You are NOT ALONE. And while it seems like things might never end, trust me when I say that It Gets Better. I was bullied from kindergarten until my Senior Year of high school by someone for whatever reason they felt like at that moment and now, they don’t exist in my world.
It does get better and I promise you it will. I am a mother. I am a wife. I am tattooed. I have an “invisible” disability. I am a sister. I am a friend. I am a daughter. You will find those that matter to you and your purpose in life is out there. I still am different from my peers but I have found those that have accepted me for who I am and those that love me no matter what. I had to open my eyes to what I had and turn out those against me. I know it is easier said than done but they are there. I AM HERE.
Bullies will get nowhere. They might be that Class President or the “cool kid”, but money and looks can’t buy you happiness.
It Gets Better Project is out there to spread the word of hope and that everyone deserves to be respected for who they are. Will you stand up against bullies? I have Taken The Pledge. If you need support or someone to talk to, we are here. You are welcome to e-mail me at jenna@loveofbabyonline.com if you need a stranger that will not judge. Check out the It Gets Better Project.
