Why I’ve begun using Mama Cloth

When I first heard about mama cloth, I didn’t know what to think. It just didn’t seem like something for me. BUT, I’m always willing to try something at least once and I am beyond glad I did.

When I was pregnant with the twins, a fellow blogger friend sent me WAHM-Made Mama Cloth, Nursing Pads, and Cloth Diapers for the twins. Instantly, I wanted MORE.

I didn’t believe some when I was told that your bleeding actually shortens while using reusable menstrual cloth but I discovered the truth first hand. With my fibromyalgia diagnosis, menstrual issues can be a big problem so anything I can do to help avoid such is a plus. With cloth, I don’t have to worry about breaking out from wearing a disposable pad. I can tell you, going to the ER with an allergic reaction is NOT fun.

Why Use Mama Cloth?

  • Reusable menstrual cloth is clear of the chemicals and toxins in disposable products.
  • Reduce the chance of irritation, yeast infections, etc.
  • Economical
  • Continued use reduces bleeding, cramps, and time of period.

I’ve been excited with co-oping and exploring Etsy sellers to build up a mama cloth stash, much like cloth diapers. There’s plenty of fun designs and it’s no different than your typical laundry. I’ve talked to friends about mama cloth and I’ve also been surprised to see how many people I know have already made the switch to reusable menstrual pads. I need to look at Amazon as well for some of their deals like this 4 Bamboo Mama Cloth/ Menstrual Pads/ Reusable & Water proof Sanitary Pads / Panty Liners by “BubuBibi” (Black)Why I've begun using Mama Cloth 1

  1. I’m actually excited to try these. I never thought these existed but if cloth diapers do, then these make sense.
