Father’s Day is right around the corner and of course, we want to make it special right? I for one, LOVE ice cream and used to eat ice cream with my Grandpa all the time when I was little. My Grandpa was my “Father’s Day” Dad.
During Father’s Day Weekend, Wendy’s restaurants will be donating 50 cents of each Frosty purchase to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. What a great way to have some quality family time as well as help another child find that special Mom and Dad to celebrate Father’s Day (and Mothers!) with. The Dave Thomas Foundation helps make more adoptions possible to create forever homes for children in foster care. These children deserve a family to call their own and The Dave Thomas Foundation has made it a goal to help these beautiful children find a family.
There are currently 129,000 foster children waiting to be adopted in the United States and 30,000 children in Canada. The average foster child is 8 years old, and spends about five years in the foster care system. Without the stability and love of a permanent family, these five years can feel like a lifetime.
Another great way to help is to create a Free Father’s Day Card. By doing so, another 25 cents will be donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Your kids can even create “coupons” especially for Dad. This Father’s Day Weekend, head over to Wendy’s, enjoy a Frosty with Dad and know you are helping out these wonderful children!
