Stop the Rape Shaming. @NoMoreOrg

Stop the Rape Shaming. @NoMoreOrg 1

As several know, I was sexually assaulted in 2011.

Since that time, atleast once a month I am told I was never raped.

I went to the hospital the night it happened, I went through what is a PAINFUL exam to collect evidence.

Two to three weeks ago, I was told nothing would be done because he said it was consensual.

I’m not giving up.

Today again I was attacked for fighting and showing things from RAINN, Joyful Heart, and told I was never raped if I was “bragging on Facebook”. I was showing my support of the groups that say NO MORE.

I pray for those that have the courage to say something like that to a person that you never have to experience the pain I still live with every day. Every time you shame a survivor of sexual assault, you’re stopping another from coming forward.

That is why my rapist has gotten away with it. So far. I’m still not giving up.

Shame on anyone that can say such a thing to the survivor of a violent crime. I will make good from what happened to me.

No More.

Did you know that many states do not have protection for survivors if they become pregnant from a rape and the rapist can gain parental rights to the child? Sign this petition and say enough is enough!

  1. I can’t even begin to imagine what you went through & what you probably go through every single day! I read everything that you post on facebook & I continue to pray for you! I hope that things get better for you! No body should ever have to be scared or shamed of coming forward to protect themselves & possibly even future people!

  2. Wow, I had no idea you went through that and I am so sorry to hear about it. No one should EVER make the victim feel bad about things like that. Ever.

  3. I am sorry this happened to you. This should never happen to anyone and when it does they should never be shamed. We should encourage them to speak out to help make sure it doesn’t happen again to them or anyone else. Thank you for sharing your story.

  4. I am so sorry you had to go through that horror and so admire you for getting out there and raising awareness. The best thing we can do is use our vote on Election Day to kick out all those rape-shaming politicians who downplay the crime of rape. I hope they lock up the man who raped you and never let him out.

  5. So sorry for what happened to you. I work in the ER of our local hospital and see first hand the hurt caused by violent crimes. The people that are ill willed to any survivor of a violent crime are BULLIES!

  6. I’m sorry for what you went through and still going through. You’re right, no rapist should ever get away with rape and I hope he gets what he deserves.
