This Winter has been an extremely cold one and continues to hit ALL parts of the US with insane amounts of snow. Our family has also been hit with colds, stomach flu, and everything that comes from this wonderful weather. But if there’s one thing I know it a must when it comes to cold weather and being ill, it’s grabbing a bowl of warm chicken noodle soup. Whether you or sick or just want to warm up, soup is an easy meal time that we all can enjoy by itself or as part of an intricate meal plan.
If you used to watch the show Seinfeld, it’s likely you’ll understand what I’m talking about when I refer to the “Soup Nazi” character, but The Original SoupMan was a hit long before Seinfeld as customers would line up outside Al’s New York Delicatessen and Restaurant in Manhattan.
We had the chance to check out the “Seven Wonders of the World” which included:
- Lobster Bisque
- Chicken Noodle
- Lentil
- Tomato Bisque
- Chicken Gumbo
- Crab Corn Chowder
- Jambalaya
Chicken Noodle is my go-to when it comes to serving soup but another family favorite of course can be created out of any soup. Pairing Tomato Bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich, Crab corn Chowder with cheese biscuits. You can create without limitation when it comes to serving soup. Now, my children can be a bit picky so I might not be able to get them to enjoy the Lobster Bisque but they too love the chance to warm up with chicken noodle, especially after being out in the cold snowy weather.
