Now, when a friend found out I was taking on this challenge, I was met with a response of “But you’re too fragile for a Total Gym, it’s not like you can do that!” Heh. My friend apparently doesn’t know me and how stubborn I get when I’m told I can’t do something. I have fibromyalgia-I can still do anything you can even if it might take longer than an average person to do.

My goals are to primarily to take control of my body. I’ve let myself down and gotten depressed lacking in ability with being cooped up with chronic pain and this is my turn to fight back. With various on and offs of medications, my weight has increased far past what I want. Before children, I sat at around 5’5″ and 120 lbs. I was a runner. I danced until my legs were ready to fall off. With Kelsie, I sprung back instantly. With Aubrey, my nine pound baby-my body had other plans. I had since maintained a weight of about 132 lbs.

With medications, I am now sitting at my highest non-pregnancy weight: 154 lbs. I see it all in my face and in my stomach. Yes, I went from a set of abs to a spare tire. Not too good for a mom that used to be proud of her body.

My Body Mass Index sets me at 25.6 and considers me OVERWEIGHT.

My goal is to lose 24 lbs. taking me back to 130 lbs. I want to feel good about myself. My bust is at a 36. Hips a 34. Later, I’ll give you a more in depth break down of ALL the inches.

I want to strengthen. This might mean less inches coming off but ultimately, I want my muscles back. I got the lovely abdominal wall rip from Aubrey. It’s time to fix that. It’s time to fix the weakness I feel when lifting up the girls.

Be prepared for more info. and to follow my every step! I will break down my stats further to show you my main spots of focus. It’s time to kick some butt.

  1. I can’t wait to see how you do on the gym and would love to hear more about how the gym helps or hurts because of you medical issues! I think that can prove very helpful to others who are wondering if the Total Gym will be right for them as well.

    Thanks for being so honest!
