Social media is an amazing and powerful thing. I would say we all use it in some way, even if we don’t realize it. Posting a photo to Facebook, sending a Twitter status, Instagram, FourSquare. We all find ways to connect.

As a blogger, being able to give out information is a priority in networking. One piece of advice I have always been given is to carry business cards. You can easily grab a card and hand it to the person. But when it comes to technology, QR codes create easy portability.

When I had the chance to check out a custom QR code generator, I had to play! Whether you want to scan your QR code to carry on your smartphone or even, print on a business card design, there are plenty of great ways to get the information you need seen.

Using the QR code generator on QRT.co was a breeze and had a variety of customizable options. While there is a free basic generator, the custom allows users the ability to change colors, transparencies, or even upload a logo to the code. Overall, it only took me about five minutes. Some of the terminology I had to take the time to look up in making decisions on what would work best for my ideas.

The one thing to take in to consideration with changing colors is to ensure that the QR code is still able to scan. Throughout creating, I was scanning the code with my smartphone. I now have my very own code to share for those wanting to check out my blog 🙂 This could easily be made to share about any news you could think of.

What would you create a QR code for?

I received a custom QRt.co product in exchange for my honest opinion through Blog Friendly PR, no compensation was received.
