I don’t know if it’s my genes I inherited from my Grandfather or what but I absolutely LOVE apple pie. I remember being little and sitting down with Grandpa over that just slightly warmed piece of pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it to share. Isn’t it crazy how such memories come back for us to think about?
With Summer here, sometimes we are all over the place but I still love being able to make a pie or grab one from the store. Now thanks to Banquet, you can find three different flavors- Apple, Cherry Berry, and Peach in that red box we’ve all seen before in the frozen food section. At first sight, I will admit that I thought of the pot pies and wondered if the crust was just the same. I was a skeptic to give it a try but figured hey, for about a dollar a pie-it would make an easy snack for when we are busy on the go-something always going on within our household.
While I’m sure you might be saying, “Jenna that isn’t a real pie”, I have to say I was impressed with that quick fix snack to enjoy. Just like any other Banquet frozen food option, you can pop the pie in the microwave or cook it in your regular oven. The girls were happy to share an apple pie with Mom! I did not see the Cherry Berry in my store but I am on the look out for such! While it’s not a homemade pie, it still is a quick and easy treat to enjoy. With back to school now arriving, this would make a great snack for the kids getting off the bus when supper’s not quite ready yet!
