Today I had an appointment with my pain management specialist. I expected we would do my typical trigger point injections and so forth. I brought up the what has now become constant pain in my hip. I started physical therapy but my movement is still very limited in what they want me doing. I might be in pain but I still have to keep going, it’s not possible to stop when you have little ones. Physical therapy though has told me when it comes to what I’m working on with them, it’s a no.
After talking to my pain specialist doctor, he talked to me about the Sacroiliac joint and how it can become irritated. Right now, we don’t know a specific cause besides that it’s more than likely the reason for the pain I’ve been having. He also told me that it might be a sign of “things to come”, hopefully not.
He explained a sacroiliac joint injection to me and within about five minutes, I was having one done. It didn’t hurt as much as I anticipated at first but as time is going on, man is it a sore spot. I am praying that this helps relieve this issue, that’s for sure. It can take up to ten days for the steroid to work but I am going to keep my hopes up, even if I’m sore now.
Until then, bring on the ibuprofen and ice.
