I’m sure by this point, each and everyone of you have heard of the fast growing Pinterest. Being online and active in social media, it’s no surprise that Pinterest has caught my attention.

As with anything online, it takes some learning to figure out what works best for you. Kelby Carr, CEO and founder of Type-A Parent, has created an awesome breakdown of how to utilize Pinterest best with Pinterest for Dummies. Whether you are wanting to check it out for the first time or want to learn the best ways to connect on Pinterest and use all available features. I’ve been using Pinterest for a few months now and I can tell you I learn something new every day about this social platform.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a visual collection of bookmarks that you organize into virtual pinboards. If you see something on a blog, your favorite retailer’s website, or even something that you take a picture of with your smartphone, you can pin it to one of your Pinterest boards for future reference. Pinterest is also a social network. You can follow other users and be followed by others. You can repin something another user has pinned, or you can like it or comment on it.

Pinterest can take on many uses from marketing for businesses, organizing your home plans, making boards for specific ideas, and much much more. I didn’t know that I was able to check out specific sources from a website until reading through Pinterest for Dummies and now I know how to check pins for For The Love of Baby! or some of my other favorite websites.

Pinterest for Dummies breaks down how to create your own boards, find those to follow, using hashtags, commenting, likes, and re-pinning as well as Pinterest “etiquette” (giving credit to the proper individual). There are so many things I did not think about before checking out this book that I am glad to have new insight and reference as I continue to grow myself and my online presence on Pinterest.

Pinterest for Dummies is available for purchase in a variety of formats for $16.99.
